uBlock Origin Still Functional on Chrome Despite Warnings, at Least for Now

Users of uBlock Origin, one of the most popular ad blockers for Chrome, have begun to notice warnings when they open the browser indicating that the extension is no longer supported. This warning prompts users to remove the extension. However, this alert does not mean that uBlock Origin has become unusable. Google seems to be pushing for users to uninstall the extension since it has not been available for download in the Chrome Web Store for a while now, yet it remains compatible with the browser.

To continue using uBlock Origin despite the warning, users can navigate to the extension settings in Chrome by selecting the “Manage Extensions” option. From there, they can reactivate uBlock Origin and confirm their choice in the resulting pop-up, signaling their intent to keep using the extension. This workaround should function in the latest version of Chrome, but it remains uncertain how much longer Google will permit this option to be viable.
