Recently, the company decided to cease using the “Gemini Advanced” brand during the Google I/O 2025 event. Instead of suggesting the existence of multiple versions of Gemini, Google will now refer to its AI assistant simply as “Gemini.”
This streamlined approach will offer users three tiers of service: Free, Pro, and Ultra. Current users of the Gemini AI assistant should have noticed this transition in their respective apps.
If the updates haven’t yet appeared, they are expected to roll out soon. While this change may lead to initial confusion, it aims to provide greater clarity and simplicity in the long run.
In alignment with this branding adjustment, Google has also replaced the name “NotebookLM Plus” with “NotebookLM.” This version will be available in the Pro and Ultra tiers, reflecting a similar effort to simplify product offerings.
