The new Copilot interface will feel familiar to users of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The chat history has been relocated to a side panel on the left, offering a more streamlined view unlike the previous pop-up window that appeared alongside the conversation. Additionally, there is a button that allows users to hide the side panel, providing more space for the interaction itself.
In a bid to enhance user experience, Microsoft has adopted similar icons to those found in ChatGPT for the “expand” and “conversation” buttons. The updated Copilot also introduces various modes for the AI chatbot. Users can now choose “Quick” mode, designed for rapid responses within 2 to 3 seconds, or “Think Deeper” mode, which caters to more intricate discussions with responses taking around 30 seconds.
Reports indicate that additional modes are in development and expected to roll out soon. If you haven’t yet encountered the new Copilot interface, it’s likely due to the ongoing rollout process. The update may not be available to all users until later in the week.
This information highlights the continued advancements in AI interfaces and their integration into daily use, showcasing Microsoft’s efforts to create a more intuitive and functional experience for users. The enhancements aim to cater to varying preferences, whether users favor quick answers or more thoughtful interactions.
