Search

Data Used: Any of the visitor-chosen search filters and query data in order to process a search request on the WordPress.com servers.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and WordPress.com Stats to track visitor activity.

We collect only non-personally identifiable information such as browser type, language preference, referring site, country, and the date and time of each visitor request.

This helps us better understand our visitor.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Application, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google services.
Google may use the Data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

By default your IP address is automatically anonymized – Worldwide.

WordPress.com Stats

Data Used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: The site owner does not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, a site owner can see that a specific post has 285 views, but he/she cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.

Activity Tracked: Post and page views, video plays (if videos are hosted by WordPress.com), outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and country. When this module is enabled, Jetpack also tracks performance on each page load that includes the Javascript file used for tracking stats. This is exclusively for aggregate performance tracking across Jetpack sites in order to make sure that our plugin and code is not causing performance issues. This includes the tracking of page load times and resource loading duration (image files, Javascript files, CSS files, etc.).

Do Not Track

If you the visitor has enabled Do Not Track in browser, then we will honor it. Currently, have enabled for WordPress.com Stats.

Jetpack Newsletter

Jetpack Email Newsletter is currently disabled.

To set up and process subscriptions, subscriber’s email address, as well as post ID is collected.

In the event of a new subscription being initiated, Jetpack also collects some basic server data, including all of the subscribing user’s HTTP request headers, the IP address, and the URI of the page (REQUEST_URI and DOCUMENT_URI).

This server data is used exclusively for the purpose of monitoring and preventing abuse and spam.

For visitors having active subscription, cookies are set to remember visitor’s blog and post subscription choices for a duration of 347 days.

Jetpack Ads

Your IP address, geographical data (derived from the IP address), user agent, operating system, device type, current URL, IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) interest category is stored for 30 days, and unique user ID (randomly generated identifier) is stored in cookie for 1 year and shared with advertisers by Jetpack.

Jetpack tracks ad impressions, video-related events (i.e. pause, mute, 100% plays, etc.) or errors, and ad click events.

Various cookies are used for the following purposes: delivering targeted advertisements to specific visitors, storing user identifiers, and collecting anonymous ad platform stats.

Advertising

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website.
